Where the name comes from
The name SudoKoum is a joke that stuck and a tribute to Koum, Alexis Leroy's wife and his biggest Sudoku fan. She was tired of ads and of printing grids to play with family and friends.
For two years, Alexis Leroy watched people close to him play Sudoku with family or friends by printing grids. He wanted the same grid for the whole table, challenges between friends and family, leaderboards and statistics, with no ads and no subscription. SudoKoum grew out of that picture.
How it works
Same grid. Who will be the best? A player sends a challenge to someone close, each of them plays the same grid whenever it suits them and the challenge leaderboard compares the scores. The score takes speed, mistakes and hints into account. It is calculated the same way for every player.
Before buying, players get unlimited solo games on Easy and Medium, daily quest included. They can also try playing with friends, with two challenges sent and two received. Going Premium opens every difficulty, Hard right away, Expert and Extreme as players progress (levels 4 and 5), along with unlimited challenges, rematches, all 100 achievements and full statistics.
